Four Makati policemen were sacked for robbery extortion and kidnapping charges upon victims complaints.
The policemen allegedly forcibly abducted a man and her girlfriend and illegally held them in captivity until they provided money for them.
The Camp Crame Counter Intelligence Task Force (CITF) has conducted an entrapment operation and captured the suspects PO2 Harley Garcera, PO2 Clarence Maynas, PO1 Tim Santos, at PO1 Jeffrey Cañete of the Makati PNP.
A certain "Mark" positively identified the policemen who forcibly abducted them on a Monday. According to him, the said policemen asked them to give P400,000.
The victims were released at the dawn of Tuesday after they handed the money raised from pawning "Mark's" father's car.
The father made a bargain and the policemen have reduced it. From P400,000, it went down to P250,000.
The father only managed to give P100,000 from pawning his car but the police said that they will kill his family if the balance will not be delivered to them.
"mark" then decide to report it to the authorities that resulted in the arrest of the four policemen.
Senior Supt. Jose Malayo, chief of the PNP-CITF, said that there is a possibility that the suspects also has victims in Cavite and Tagaytay areas.
Senior Superintendent Malayo urges the victims to come to their office to file cases.
The four suspects refrained from giving any statements. They are facing robbery extortion and kidnapping charges.
The authorities said that the group 3 more members who are subjected to manhunt by the authorities.
